PAN is partnering with CATIE to bring our members and allies training to enrich their knowledge of hepatitis C and HIV.
CATIE courses include weekly self-directed modules, collaborative discussion boards facilitated by a CATIE educator (Zoé Bordeleau-Cass), and an interactive online meeting with fellow students.
Hepatitis C Treatment, BC and the Yukon regional training – begins January 15, 2023

CATIE’s Hepatitis C treatment course supports frontline service providers to talk to their clients about hepatitis C treatment and support them to consider starting, staying on, or repeating treatment. This course includes approximately four-five hours of online instruction delivered over three weeks.
Week 1: Introduction to hepatitis C treatment
Week 2: Factors that may influence decisions on hepatitis C treatment
Week 3: Staying healthy during and after hepatitis C treatment; Interactive online meeting – Hepatitis C Treatment: Implications for Front Line Workers, February 1, 2024, 10 AM – noon Pacific time
HIV Prevention in partnership with PAN – begins February 12, 2023

CATIE’s HIV prevention course supports frontline service providers to accurately and meaningfully discuss HIV transmission risk and prevention strategies with their clients. This course includes approximately six hours of online instruction delivered over four weeks.
Week 1: The biology of HIV transmission
Week 2: Understanding and communicating HIV risk
Week 3: HIV treatment and an undetectable viral load
Week 4: Highly effective HIV prevention strategies; Interactive online meeting, HIV Prevention: Implications for frontline service providers March 7, 2024, 10 AM – noon Pacific time
