Special Invitation to Community Consultation on STBBI testing in BC

The purpose of PAN’s Testing Guidance Project provincial consultation is to seek your expertise around the key roles that are (or could be) played by peers and community health workers in STBBI testing and linkage to care – and what best supports this work. These consultations will lead to the development of a guiding framework to be shared back to community as well as provincial STBBI testing practice leads and decision-makers. Participation in this consultation is for persons with experience performing tests or supporting others in STBBI testing/linkage to care, and those who are interested in becoming involved in that work. The project is funded by UBC CUES and has been developed in partnership with Dr. Mark Gilbert at the BCCDC.

For those who have not already been contacted, we would like to offer two involvement options:

OPTION 1: Join an open, virtual meeting

We invite you to one of our three open sessions to give your individual input.  We’ll email you the workbook beforehand, so you can consider the questions, write notes or doodle.  Feel free to email us your art afterwards, it may even make it into the framework 😊

The open sessions are on November 18th at 9:30-11amDecember 9th at 1-2:30pm or December 16th at 9:30-11am.

Peers and PWLLE will be given honoraria of $45, if not on paid release time from their employer.  If you are not on PAN’s books, then please sign up here to expedite honoraria.

All meeting participants must adhere to PAN’s Group Guidelines.

ACTION: Email Simon Goff at [email protected], choosing one or two of the dates above – we’ll book you in and send details.

OPTION 2: Provide individual feedback via an online survey

If you would prefer to answer the questions individually as a part of an online survey, rather than join a meeting, then this is your option. Again, peers and PWLLE will be given honoraria of $45, if not on paid release time from their employer, and we are allotting 90 minutes for preparation and survey completion.

To help you prepare, here are our resources:

ACTION: Fill in the survey (deadline December 17th).
