Indigenous-centred approaches to harm reduction, HIV and hepatitis C

 

The Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (CAAN), the Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development and CATIE will be presenting a two-part webinar series on Indigenous-centred and reconciliatory harm reduction approaches this February and March.

The first webinar will provide an overview of what these approaches look like, the link between colonialism and substance use, HIV and hepatitis C, and examples of the Indigenous-led response.

This webinar will be held on February 24, 2020, at 9 AM Pacific time/ 12 PM Eastern time.

The second webinar will explore what Reconciliation means in the context of harm reduction, what service providers can do to offer wholistic, person-centred services, and how to address stigma in our healthcare system.

These webinars will be moderated by Dylan Richards from CAAN and will include presentations from leading voices working with Indigenous communities.
