Topic: Body image is complex – it encompasses our perception of our physical and social self, plus how we think others see us. Join us to learn about the latest research on how HIV and antiretroviral therapy impact our metabolism, plus physical effects of treatment for people living with HIV. In order to lessen the impacts of depression connected to body image, this issue must be addressed in health care settings. Community interventions are also needed to address stigma and negative body image to improve the lives of people living with HIV.
