Camp Moomba Winter Camp 2016 is happening Janaury 30 & 31

moombaAt YouthCO, we are so excited to be planning this winter camp program, happening on January 30 and 31!! We hope to see many familiar faces over the weekend. This year’s program is based on the fantastic camp that Moomba’s former Executive Director, Mairin Pybus-Keane, and Manuelle (Manny) Chanoine, put together in 2015.

We’ll be spending the weekend at Evans Lake Camp in Squamish, BC. During the weekend, we are planning to pack in as much fun as possible!! Games, low ropes, art, archery, and campfire are all on offer. We also have a time when campers will get to choose their own activity for the afternoon. Some camp activities will be taking place outdoors, and snow or no snow, please be prepared for a winter camp setting.

Winter Camp 2016 is open to children aged 6 to 18 years old who are living with HIV or are living with a family member who is HIV-positive in the Lower Mainland and area.  To reserve your camper’s spot, please contact Sarah Chown (YouthCO’s Program Director) at [email protected] or 604-688-1441 by December 18, 2015.

Once you reserve your camper’s spot, we will provide you with registration forms. Registration forms are due Wednesday, January 6th, 2016.

During this year’s winter camp, we are also inviting a maximum of 10 Moomba alumni who are 19 and 20 years old to participate. These alumni will be joining in camp programming as well as leadership development opportunities that may help to prepare them to be camp counsellors in summer 2016. We are asking Moomba alumni to answer two questions to apply to join this leadership group. Check out the details at http://www.youthco.org/winter_camp_2016.
