Truth and Reconciliation Fundraiser for Indigenous artists in the DTES

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30th, 2023) honours the lives of those impacted by residential schools and other forms of state violence carried out against Indigenous peoples in colonial Canada. It also serves as an opportunity to reflect and hold up the great work Indigenous peoples are leading with respect to Indigenous resistance, resurgence, healing and reconciliation. To facilitate this type of reflection, Len Pierre Consulting (LPC) is hosting a Truth and Reconciliation gathering on the evening of Friday, September 29th, 2023.

This inaugural event will be a platform for Indigenous artists, activists and leaders to share their work in a speaker series. There will also be opportunities for professionals to network with others who share LPC’s values and who are interested in advancing Cultural Safety, Reconciliation, Decolonization, and Anti-Racism within their organizations. We also hope to hold space for Indigenous artists to showcase their work throughout the evening.

LPC will be delivering the event at cost – proceeds will support Skwachàys Lodge, an Indigenous artists residency program located in Vancouver.
