Realize Storytelling Workshop Begins Wed Nov 16!

 

You’re invited!  Participate in an online storytelling workshop for older people living with HIV (age 55+) hosted by Realize and facilitated by Tracey Erin Smith from Soulo Theatre (www.soulo.ca). We have contracted Tracey to guide you through this unique experiential learning opportunity which will support the development of your own unique storytelling style.

An honouraria will be provided to each participant upon signature of the Course Participation Agreement and completion of all 3 sessions. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion (pdf).

Information

  • Three x 3-hour sessions in November 2022
  • Participants must attend all 3 sessions
  • All sessions happen over Zoom from 10 AM- 1 PM Pacific time/ 11 AM- 2 PM Mountain time
  • The workshops will be conducted in English only
  • There is no cost for you or your organization
  • Space is limited. This workshop is open to 10 people and spots will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.

Nov. 22nd,  10 AM- 1 PM Pacific time/ 11 AM- 2 PM Mountain time (Tuesday) – Building Your Storytelling Toolkit

Nov. 29th,  10 AM- 1 PM Pacific time/ 11 AM- 2 PM Mountain time (Tuesday) – Putting Your Story to Work

 

Participants of the workshop will be periodically asked to use their skills by participating in Realize workshops for a term of 1-year. These are unique online opportunities to speak to groups of students and staff in aging, healthcare and social services disciplines about your experiences and how they affect the aging process for you. Each opportunity will require 1-2hrs of your time, but you will speak for 20 minutes maximum. There is an honourarium provided every time you participate in a workshop.
