Interested in joining BCCDC’s Sexual Health Advisory Group?

The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) STI Services Program is forming an advisory committee called the Sexual Health Advisory Group (SHAG). SHAG members will participate in monthly meetings to help inform the development and improvement of projects, tools, and services within BCCDC STI Services. Please share this opportunity with folks within your network who might be interested in joining. SHAG members will be paid for their time, and we have more information about this engagement opportunity here https://www.smartsexresource.com/shag.

SHAG is looking to represent diverse communities and perspectives including LGBQ2+, trans/non-binary, kink, non-monogamy, younger & older, rural & remote, and BIPOC voices from across BC.  The topics we’re planning to bring forward to SHAG meetings will include clinical, educational, and online services offered through the BCCDC STI Services Program. We’re looking for people who access or want to improve STI & sexual health services in BC, and who are willing to bring their perspectives and community voice to discussions on an ongoing basis. Prior experience is not needed, and folks don’t need to be connected to a community organization.

For any questions, please email [email protected]. BCCDC is planning to gather applications by December 5, 2021, and to start meeting with prospective SHAG members in February 2022.
