This webinar is a partnership between the Alliance for Healthier Communities and CATIE. Race-based epidemiological data are not currently being collected in a consistent manner across Canada, including during the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and in regards to HIV and hepatitis C. Some public health authorities have committed to collecting race-based data, however collective action is needed to begin collecting and using this data and translating it into public health and community action.
This webinar will discuss the path forward and tangible next steps for race-based data collection and how they can address health disparities experienced by racialized groups, including African, Caribbean and Black Canadians, Indigenous people, immigrants and newcomers.
