Dear Colleagues,
The collaborating partners for the Canadian Webinar Series on Implementing the WHO Guideline on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Women Living with HIV are thrilled to invite you to offer your input and insight into the development of a national action plan to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women living with HIV.
We hosted an ancillary event at the 2018 Canadian Association for HIV Research (CAHR) conference in April 2018: Developing a National Action Plan to Advance the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Women Living with HIV. This event brought together nearly 100 women living with HIV (WLWH), policy-makers, community workers, social workers, clinicians, students, and researchers from across Canada to discuss policy, programming, and research considerations that will lay the foundation for a national action plan to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of WLWH.
The attached report contains summaries, key messages, and detailed discussion notes from each of the four discussion topics:
(1) Trauma- and Violence-Aware Care/Practice
(2) Supporting Safer HIV Disclosure
(3) Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice
(4) Resilience, Self-efficacy, and Peer Support
With over 100 participants contributing to the content in this report, we are now circulating it as part of an ongoing process of soliciting feedback from a wider community of stakeholders. Input and insights offered will inform the development of a national action plan to support, enhance, and strengthen the sexual and reproductive health and rights of WLWH.
