Webinar: New Canadian HIV PrEP/nPEP guidelines: public health and community perspectives

CATIE presents a webinar on New Canadian HIV PrEP/nPEP guidelines: public health and community perspectives.

Date: May 16th
Time: 10:00 – 11:00 Pacific time

The Canadian guideline on HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and nonoccupational post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP), released in November 2017, offers evidence-informed guidance for prescribers in Canada on how to assess patient eligibility for PrEP and nPEP, and how to prescribe and provide follow-up care. Public health and community-based workers should be familiar with the guideline so they can promote the use of PrEP and nPEP as highly effective HIV prevention strategies to target populations, and help their clients get connected to PrEP and nPEP services.

This webinar will:

  • Review key messages from the PrEP and nPEP guideline
  • Help community-based service providers understand PrEP/nPEP eligibility in order to support PrEP and nPEP access for clients at high risk of acquiring HIV
  • Present service provider and public health perspectives and experiences on using the guideline to help clients access PrEP and/or nPEP
