Job Posting – Manager, HIV Services, VCH

As Manager – HIV Services, you will report to the Regional Director, Prevention and assume responsibility for the delivery of effective and efficient HIV services in Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).

Key components of this impactful role include:

  • Providing leadership and direction for operations management, planning, implementation and evaluation of HIV services and activities related to utilization, risk management, and quality of the service.
  • Playing a critical role in addressing the ongoing issues/needs of clients and ensuring a smooth transition from the acute care environment to appropriate community health services.
  • Leading an inter-disciplinary team and working with colleagues and co-workers in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve excellence in client-centered care, education and research.

In this role, your primary interactions and communications will be with Managers, Directors and physicians within VCH-Vancouver and Vancouver Coastal Health (including Providence Health Care), the Executive Directors of contracted agencies, leads of medical programs and transition teams, VCH senior leadership and community and health authority partners.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Communicating program strategic direction incorporating VCH vision, values and strategic direction and ensuring integration into practice.
  • Acting as a program champion and lead on behalf of the health authority.
  • Fostering partnerships and establishing systems that facilitate optimal HIV services delivery to address client priorities, reducing or eliminating service gaps, ensuring seamless client flow throughout the continuum of care, projecting future needs and recommending or implementing new initiatives and revisions to programs/services.
  • Developing and managing contracts with external providers to support the provision of HIV services.
  • Providing leadership in redesigning systems and acting as Project Manager, conducting needs assessments, assisting with defining project scope and resource needs, working with integrated project teams, reporting on project status, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and with a high standard of quality.
  • Developing effective and efficient practices and processes to measure use of resources, achievement of deliverables, and the quality of care rendered within allocated budget.
  • Collaborating in the development of program budget to complement strategic directions within existing fiscal restraints and use best utilization methods to monitor and adhere to budget.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to designated staff (coaching, mentoring, skill and leadership development, performance management) to inspire team towards the achievement of project goals.
  • Defining an effective workforce plan in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders that ensures the availability of adequate staff within the context of operational demands and environmental and resource constraints.
  • Ensuring clarification of roles, adherence to accreditation and practice standards, and safe delivery of care.
  • Carrying out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
