Working Together Video: Dr. Cathy Worthington’s Presentation

Last summer staff and volunteers from PAN had the opportunity to participate in a great event called, Working Together: A Dialogue for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Research Partners. This event was hosted by the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) Community Based Research Collaborative Centre, a Program of the CIHR REACH Centre, and the CIHR-funded Aboriginal HIV and AIDS Community-based Research Collaborative Centre (AHA Centre).

This event provided an opportunity for conversation about the ‘essential ingredients’ needed to ensure successful and respectful cross-cultural community-based research partnerships.

This session highlighted the ways in which the two Centres work together, and included: a keynote address from Dr. Cathy Worthington on the promises and tensions of working in partnership, a panel of Aboriginal and Allied researchers and lots of time for rich discussion.
