The “Breaking the Stigma: Building Meaningful Relationships with Youth” conference designed, developed and delivered/co-facilitated by the youth and young adults of VYPER from across the Fraser Health region is just one week away! With free lunch!
The conference is aimed at social service professionals who work with youth, social services students, and anyone else who wants to be inspired by what can happen when we ask “What are youth capable of being and doing in this environment?”

WHERE: University of the Fraser Valley – 33844 King Road, Abbotsford, BC V2S 7M7 B101, Workshops in rooms A266 & A259 WHEN: Wednesday, 11 May 2016 from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM WHAT: 8:30 AM – Registration (B101) 9 AM – Opening (B101) 9:40 AM – Harm Reduction Workshop (B101) 10:50 AM – Youth Panel (B101) 12:20 PM – FREE Lunch (Cafeteria) 1:10 PM – Youth Rights Workshop; LGBTQ+ Workshop 2:20 PM – Mental Health Workshop; Allyship Workshop 3:30 PM – Closing & Door prizes The youth panel will be answering questions from conference attendees that are submitted beforehand. Questions can include topics regarding: youth mental health, LGBTQ+, communication between youth and adults, and substance use. VYPER OUTCOMES VYPER’s main goal is to support new and existing community entities to provide resiliency-building partnership opportunities to youth and young adults in their communities. We do this by helping organizations, their staff and management to constantly ask the question “What might youth be capable of being and doing in this environment?” So, what has resulted? Have a look at what 130 different organizations/departments have reported to us about their Youth-Adult Partnership behaviours since VYPER started in 2014 |
