PHAC – Recruiting volunteers to assist in the letters of intent review process of the HIV and Hepatitis C Community Action Fund

phacThe Public Health Agency of Canada’s HIV and Hepatitis C Community Action Fund supports the community-based response to HIV, hepatitis C and related sexually transmitted and blood borne infections (STBBI). The approach to the Community Action Fund includes a commitment to the greater and meaningful engagement of people living with HIV and/or hepatitis C.

We are looking for volunteers who would review approximately 20 project application summaries. Your review would be to provide feedback on:

· the extent to which projects might prevent HIV and/or hepatitis C
· the extent to which projects meet the needs of people living with, or at risk for, HIV and/or hepatitis C

In late April, 2016 there will be a two-week period where you will be asked to review the materials and provide your comments. We anticipate that each project summary will be approximately one page and we ask that you complete a three-question assessment for each project. Materials will be sent directly to you by email.

The Agency will provide an opportunity for reviewers to attend a teleconference to receive more information about the review, and pose any questions you might have. Reviewers will be asked to declare any potential conflict of interest in advance of the review process.

If you are interested in reviewing project summaries, please send an email before April 1, 2016 to [email protected] indicating your interest, the city in which you live, and your language of preference for communication and to receive materials.

Thank you for your interest.
