Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Programs and the Executive Director this position will provide a variety of support services to the clients of Positive Living Fraser Valley Society and the Community we serve. These services include one on one support, volunteer support, facilitation, transportation support, statistics collection, client/volunteer/community education and outreach and evaluating service delivery. Distribution of Harm Reduction supplies is also a requirement of this position. Other duties will include dissemination of resource materials, assisting with Centre events (including the weekly positive lunch and the community kitchen) and attending and helping organize community events. When necessary, acting as a back-up to all other support staff will be required.
This is not an entry level position. Preference will be given to applicants that demonstrate a higher understanding of HIV and Hepatitis C in their cover letter and resume. Applicants must also be completely comfortable with driving clients (often multiple trips) to Vancouver and Surrey to see specialists. A valid class 5 BC License or lower is required as is access to a reliable vehicle. A criminal record check is required for hire in this position.
