Are you a woman living with HIV (Trans inclusive, 14+) living or accessing care in Metro Vancouver?
The SHAWNA Project (Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS: Women’s Longitudinal Needs Assessment) is looking for women living with HIV who are living with or accessing care in Metro Vancouver to participate in a five-year research project aimed at understanding women’s experiences with sexual health and HIV treatment and care. SHAWNA is a collaborative research project, led by the Gender and Sexual Health Initiative of the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS and the University of British Columbia, in partnership with women’s and HIV service and support organizations including Positive Women’s Network, Pacific AIDS Network, BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre/ Women’s Health Research Institute / Oak Tree Clinic, YouthCO AIDS Society, BC Centre for Disease Control, Aboriginal Health Research Program (UVIC), Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network, Pivot Legal Society and the WISH Drop-In Centre Society. The SHAWNA team includes a diverse staff of peer research associates, outreach workers and nurses with a range of experiential assets. Research participants will receive an honorarium for their time and expertise.
