The Health Initiative for Men is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller (part time). The Financial Controller is responsible for provide senior level financial services, including: managing Receivables, overseeing Payables, month-end close, year-end close preparation, managing HIM’s charitable tax receipting program, periodic funder reporting, annual budgeting and monthly variance reporting, completion of the annual charity return and other government reporting, along with providing payroll and benefits administration for the organization. The Financial Controller reports directly to the Executive Director, and works with the Office Manager/Bookkeeper to maintain an efficient Finance & Administration unit.
Duties:
- monitor and confirm accurate posting of payables, reviewing discrepancies in comparison with the budget;
- maintain accuracy of project accounting reports both for program manager usage and for purposes of funder reporting;
- seek improved efficiencies and enact improvements in consultation with Executive Director;
- prepare payroll on a bi-weekly basis using QuickBooks, and TelPay for direct deposit;
- prepare month-end Board Reports package for review by the Executive Director and Board approval;
- monitor cash flow, budget utilization and spending requirements throughout the year;
- annually, develop budget with Executive Director;
- responsible for the annual year-end close preparation, including schedules and working papers.
