#GetGarded is a new campaign that aims to increase awareness of HPV, the vaccine Gardasil® & the newly released Gardasil® 9. Gardasil® prevents infection of the four most common strains of HPV, which are linked to the development of genital warts and cancer (i.e. oral, anal, and penile cancers) and Gardasil® 9 prevents five additional cancer-causing HPV types. HPV is a very common STI among gay & bi guys that can cause genital warts and cancers. Even if you’ve been infected (like the majority of us), vaccination is still recommended for gay and bi guys of ALL ages, as getting vaccinated will protect you from getting the other commonly identified HPV types you haven’t been infected with!
