CAHR is pleased to announce that registration is open for the second Mid-Career level HIV Researcher Workshop, which focuses on Research Communications. This workshop will aim to enable HIV researchers to better communicate their work to a wide range of audiences including: people living with HIV, policy makers, media and research funders.
This workshop – to be co-chaired by Drs. Jonathan Angel (University of Ottawa) and Michael Grant (Memorial University) – will be made possible thanks to support from: the Public Health Agency of Canada; the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative Alliance Coordinating Office; the CIHR HIV/AIDS Research Initiative; CATIE; and CANFAR.
Individuals wishing to attend the Mid-Career level HIV Researcher Workshop must apply to the Canadian Association for HIV Research. Registration will be open to HIV researchers from all tracks who meet the following criteria:
Applicants must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or a landed immigrant
- Focus their area of research in HIV or HCV Co-Infection
- Have at least 3 years of experience since first academic appointment at the time of application
Event details are as follows:
Date: Thursday February 5 – Friday February 6. Sessions will run from Thursday afternoon to Friday evening
Location: Fairmont Chateau Laurier, Ottawa, ON
Cost: Registration for the workshop is $100. This includes 2 nights’ accommodation at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier, all workshop materials, and food throughout the meeting.
*Note that participants will be expected to cover their own travel costs to and from the meeting*
