Positive Living Fraser Valley Society a non- profit organization that provides wrap around services to those infected or affected by HIV, Viral Hepatitis, TB and Sexually Transmitted Blood Borne Infections and persons who use drugs throughout Fraser East (Langley to Boston Bar).
We are recruiting for a permanent position (37.5 hours per week). Extensive knowledge of HIV and Hepatitis is required as well as a minimum of two years proven experience working with persons affected by these medical issues. Formal education in a related field is also desired.
This position involves keeping accurate case notes and statistics, one on one support, group support/facilitation, community engagement/education, client advocacy/navigation, prison outreach and provision of medical transport to specialist appointments either in your own personal vehicle or in a company vehicle.
Experience and knowledge working with a very diverse group of individuals is needed as is acceptance and tolerance of those who are in active drug/alcohol addiction and/or homeless or facing homelessness. Acceptance and knowledge of the Harm Reduction Model is also required.
