May 18, 2014 marks World AIDS Vaccine Day, an opportunity to promote the need for a vaccine to prevent HIV infection and AIDS; and acknowledge and
thank the thousands of volunteers, community members, health professionals, supporters and scientists who are working together to find a safe and effective AIDS vaccine.
In preparation of this event, the Centre for Communicable Diseases and Infection Control, in collaboration with the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative’s (CHVI) Research and Development Alliance Coordinating Office (ACO), will be presenting a webinar on the following:
- Overview of the CHVI, a collaboration between the Government of Canada and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
- CHVI progress to date
- Overview of the ACO and how you or your organization can get involved in the Alliance
- Latest research findings and continued need for HIV vaccine research
