Happy Pride Season!
Across Canada, Pride Season officially takes place from June to September; when 2SLGBTQIA+ people and their allies come together to highlight the resilience, celebrate the talent, and recognize their communities’ contributions. Although special attention is put on the Pride during the summer months, they happen throughout the year in many communities. Pride events offer us an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made in striving for equity, safety and human rights, while recognizing the challenges that remain.
This webinar was open to all 2SLGBTQIA+ community members and those in allyship with them. While the session was not recorded, we would like to share speaker slides and notes, as well as other resources shared on the day. *Click on each image to access the full slide deck.*
“Are Pride festivals still protests?”
“What would have shocked 2SLGBTQIA+ activists 20 years ago about today’s realities?”
“Is the queer community becoming more inclusive or more divided?”
“Has social media strengthened or weakened 2SLGBTQIA+ communities?”
