Beyond Pride: Sex, Health, Community, and the Future of 2SLGBTQIA+ Life in Canada

Happy Pride Season!

Across Canada, Pride Season officially takes place from June to September; when 2SLGBTQIA+ people and their allies come together to highlight the resilience, celebrate the talent, and recognize their communities’ contributions. Although special attention is put on the Pride during the summer months, they happen throughout the year in many communities.

Pride events offer us an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made in striving for equity, safety and human rights, while recognizing the challenges that remain. On Wednesday, July 15th from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM PT you are invited to join PAN and the Positive Leadership Development Institute (PLDI) (British Columbia and Western Canada Region) for a webinar exploring the past, present, and future of Pride in Canada.

Open to all 2SLGBTQIA+ community members and those in allyship with them, this webinar will offer an interactive learning and connecting space where we will dive into questions such as:

  • “Are Pride festivals still protests?”
  • “Is the queer community becoming more inclusive or more divided?”
  • “What would have shocked 2SLGBTQIA+ activists 20 years ago about today’s realities?”
  • “Has social media strengthened or weakened 2SLGBTQIA+ communities?”
