What is BC Housing’s Role? |
BC Housing is responsible for much of the subsidized housing in the province, and non-profit organizations also provide some subsidized housing.
BC Housing manages a database of housing listings that includes subsidized housing. Non-profit housing providers can also use the database. This means that you can search the database for subsidized housing options from BC Housing and those non-profit organizations that choose to use the database. You can apply for housing listed in the database with just one application.
Because not all non-profit organizations participate in the BC Housing database, there may be subsidized housing options that do not show up in it. In these cases, you will need to apply directly to the non-profit organization, which will have its own application process.
