Video Series: A Client-Centered Approach to Resisting ‘Burnout’ and ‘Vicarious Trauma’

The Community Action Initiative’s Overdose Prevention and Education Network (OPEN) is very pleased to present a joint video series collaboration with community activist/therapist Vikki Reynolds, Ph.D., RCC. This series represents Vikki’s recent developments on the Zone of Fabulousness. Each video also includes links to Vikki’s published articles, as well as exercises and/or worksheets for teams to use in applying the learned material.
The 6 short videos (57 minutes total) are oriented towards front-line service workers and their teams to help them work through the emotional impact of responding to overdoses within their community.

The 6 videos include the following:

  • Resisting ‘Burnout’ with Justice Doing
  • Centering Connection and Clients in Worker ‘Burnout’: Connection/Disconnection/Enmeshment and the Zone of Fabulousness
  • Resisting Disconnection and Enmeshment: The Zone of Fabulousness and Resisting Zone Slippage
  • Creating Cultures of Collective Accountability
  • Debriefing with Collective Care
  • Differentiating Between Dignified Meaningful Death and Tragic Death
