Invitation to CAAN’s Keeping Our Fires Project

Via CAAN.

CAAN Communities, Alliances & Network is inviting organizations to participate in our “Keeping Our Fires” project, funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada and the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch.  This initiative aims to collaborate with organizations across the land to co-create resources to strengthen the capacity to provide culturally safe and stigma-free STBBI prevention, testing, treatment, and care.

By participating, your organization will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive training on the Community Readiness Model (CRM) to prepare you to conduct an environmental scan to guide the resource creation and strategy implementation to address STBBIs in your community.
  • Enhance the capacity to provide culturally safe and stigma-free STBBI services.
  • Contribute to the well-being of Indigenous communities through shared knowledge and practices.
  • Collaborate with like-minded organizations to develop culturally relevant resources grounded in Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Doing.

Please see the attached Keeping Our Fires Package for more information.

If you are interested in this opportunity or would like to know more, please contact Tash Dingwell, the Promising Practices Coordinator at CAAN Communities, Alliances & Network: [email protected]
