
Moms Stop the Harm (MSTH) is a network of Canadian families impacted by substance use related harms and deaths. We advocate to end substance use related to stigma, harms and death.
Position Details
Contract: 6 months (March 31, 2024) with the possibility of extension; dependent on funding
Hours: Part time (32 hours/week)
Compensation: $35/hour

Overview
Reporting to the MSTH Executive Director, the BC Program Manager coordinates MSTH projects, activities and special initiatives in BC. The BC Program Manager is responsible for the management, quality assurance, plans, goals, and performance standards of all projects and services provided by MSTH in BC. The BC Program Manager ensures that the program activities align with the mission, vision and values of MSTH, and provides strategic direction and supervision to all BC program staff.
Accountabilities
● Ensures that the planning, administration and monitoring of programs are in concert with MSTH mission, vision and values.
● Oversees all BC activities and provides the Executive Director, BC staff team, and other stakeholders with regular comprehensive status reports, identifying potential delays, contingencies, barriers, and associated solutions.
● In coordination with the Executive Director, regularly evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of its programs to ensure that contract needs are met.
● Provides the Executive Director with a monthly summary of challenges and opportunities related to the delivery of programs and activities involved in BC contracts and advocacy activities.
● Manages and administers contractors and resources to deliver services.
● Ensures that the selection of staff, work performance, discipline and growth of personnel is carried out in accordance with MSTH policy.
● Maintains effective working relationships with staff, government, funders, other organizations.
Program management
● Ensures programs are implemented in a timely manner, and in compliance with funder requirements.
● Implements tools, interventions, or processes necessary to ensure program success.
● Provides direct supervision to program staff, contractors and consultants to ensure key indicators, milestones and deliverables are completed on time, and to ensure metrics are being tracked.
● Conducts staff performance evaluations annually, or as needed.
● Works closely with Social Media, Administrative, and Communications staff and contractors to ensure work plans are carried out as designed for promotion of BC support programs, webinars, workshops, recruitment, etc)
● Tracks key performance indicators, milestones, and or deliverables to ensure contracts are honored.
Program Monitoring and Evaluation
● Contributes to the monitoring and evaluation of programs by collecting relevant qualitative and quantitative data, contributing to funder and Board reports as required, and providing input on program evalation plans.
Budgetary Responsibilities
● Meets monthly with MSTH bookkeeper and Executive Director to ensure program expenditures are aligned with budgets and projected spending.
● Approves payments under $500 for program expenses and reimbursement to volunteers, program staff, contractors.
● Tracks program expenditures and revenue.
● Assists in fund development as required.

● Computer proficiency: Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Suite, etc.
Qualifications
● Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field: business, human services, health administration, soiology or another related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
● At least three years of leadership and program management experience, including supervising staff and managing budgets
