World AIDS Day (WAD) is recognized officially on December 1, with events and advocacy campaigns. If you’re planning an event around or on World AIDS Day, and are looking for some resources, there are several great places to look.
Read about the UNAIDS’ campaign this year, Let Communities Lead. UNAIDS has additional resources, including Global HIV/AIDS statistics.

PAN Virtual: Community. Action. Change.
PAN will uphold the World AIDS Day theme and expand the vision to all the communities we support with a virtual training on December 6th.
Join us for shared learning driven by people with lived and living experience (PWLLE). This day of three sessions will feature discussions on improving client connection and cultural safety in services; ethical and open employment practices supporting PWLLE; and sustainable involvement of PWLLE.
We invite you to listen, learn, and build community action. Learn more and register.
The Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research is hosting a WAD campaign in collaboration with CATIE that’s already underway and will run to December 7th. Find stigma busting information, videos, shareable graphics, option to order self-testing kits, and more. Check it out.
Communities, Alliances, and Networks (CAAN) will post information about Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week and World AIDS day; keep your eyes on their site.
CATIE, Canada’s source for HIV and hepatitis C information, has WAD resources up on their site too.
We applaud the work our members do each and every day. If you are hosting a World AIDS Day event and want to let the community know, we’re happy to share your announcement with PAN members. Celebrate our amazing community, shout for social justice, remember those who have passed; believe in the strength we have. Send your information to [email protected].
