Manager, Peer Navigation Services

The Manager of Peer Navigation Services leads the Peer Navigator team at AIDS Vancouver with primary responsibilities of:
• mentorship, support, hiring, training, and scheduling unionized and non-unionized Peer Navigators at AIDS Vancouver, including strong knowledge of supports available to clients of AIDS Vancouver
• reviewing all referrals to the Peer Navigation program, including following up with referral sources, and ensuring timely follow up with clients
• promotion and success of Peer Navigation Services including one on one programs, group programs, education and training for service providers, and community events
• establishing and maintaining positive relationships with all partners and referral sources for Peer Navigation Services
• collaborating with the Director team to provide training to other AIDS Vancouver teams as appropriate
• with support of the Director team, managing the budget for Peer Navigation Services

This position also networks with front line service providers to build collaborative interagency partnerships, and ensures a supportive environment for all clients within AIDS Vancouver and
other sites where programs are delivered.

 

Hours: 32 hours/week (4 days/week, Tues – Fri)
Start Date: as early as June 1st, must be able to start by June 26th
Compensation: $39-$40.50 per hour (see full posting for details)

Peer Navigator

The Peer Navigator is responsible for a wide range of duties focused on assisting people living with HIV to meet their goals. The Peer Navigator must be able to build rapport across communities of people living with HIV. Key duties of a Peer Navigator include supporting people living with HIV to access services, make decisions about ARVs for treatment and/or prevention, and improve their health and wellness needs. The Peer Navigator provides system navigation, support, education, and other services at all stages of an individual’s journey with HIV, including newly diagnosed people through one to one and in group facilitation.

The ideal Peer Navigator is a person living with HIV who is willing and able to share their experience and knowledge with others. The Peer Navigator must be comfortable with disclosing their HIV status in professional settings and when working with clients. Peers are not required to disclose their HIV status online.

Hours: 32 hours/week (4 days/week, either Mon – Thurs or Tues – Fri)
Start Date: as early as June 26th, must be able to start by July 10th
