Event: Supporting Mothers In Ways That Work Forum on September 8 (Vancouver)

Join community members, researchers and service providers in an evening focused on strengthening care and support for mothers living with HIV in Vancouver and beyond!

This knowledge-to-action forum will:

  • Discuss issues currently affecting mothers living with HIV and implications for research, clinical and community-based practice and policy.
  • Highlight the care and support services currently available to mothers living with HIV in Vancouver and surrounding regions.
  • Strengthen regional networks of community members and service providers invested in creating safe and accessible services for mothers living HIV.

This forum will include presentations by leading community members, researchers, service providers and clinicians from British Columbia including:

  • Dr. Deborah Money and Dr. Mary Kestler from Oak Tree Clinic, BC Women’s and Children’s Hospital
  • Dr. Angela Kaida from Simon Fraser University and BC Principal Investigator for CHIWOS
  • Sangam Grant from Positive Women’s Network
  • Valerie Nicholson – mother, grandmother, peer, community representative for CHIWOS and community leader
  • Dr. Saara Greene from McMaster University will also highlight findings from the HIV Mothering Study in Ontario.
