The BC Core Team of the REACH CBR Collaborative Centre is recruiting a Community Representative

The REACH CBR Collaborative Centre in HIV/AIDS aims to foster rigorous, relevant community-based resarch that will improve the health and well-being of people affected by HIV in communities across Canada. While the Centre is national in scope, it aims to be highly responsive to provincial and regional needs through regional teams across the country, who will work with the broader HIV and CBR communities to foster HIV/AIDS-related CBR and capacity building activities driven by regional priorities and needs.

The BC Core Team is looking for a person living with HIV/AIDS to hold the position of Community Representative on this multi-stakeholder team. The Community Representative will have the ability to see regional-level issues and solutions, have an understanding of community-based research principles, and hold experience in community-based research. The Team is co-led by Jennifer Evin Jones (Pacific AIDS Network) and Dr. Catherine Worthington (School of Public Health and Social Policy, University of Victoria), and is comprised of a diverse stakeholders, including representatives from AIDS service organizations and the HIV/AIDS policy sector.

What you will be asked to do as a member of the BC Core Team: Team members are asked to draw on their past and continued involvement in HIV-related community-based health research community to guide the CBR Centre’s work in BC.

Time commitments: You will be asked to attend one (1) face-to-face meeting per year and up to four (4) teleconferences per year.

In recognition of people’s time and expertise, there are honoraria available to support the volunteer participation of persons on the BC Core Team.
