We were pleased to hear from community educators representing Freddie and PAN member Health Initiative for Men in PrEP 201: Prevention for Every Body.
Thomas Iglesias Trombetta and Grant Picarillo from Freddie offered information about some of the lesser-known intricacies of PrEP for HIV prevention, talking about considerations for different types of communities, new developments on the horizon such as injectable PrEP, and variations on PrEP scheduling that may be available for certain folks. Aaron Purdie and Darren Ho of Health Initiative for Men laid out the process for accessing PrEP through the publicly funded program in British Columbia. Freddie is a service option for people who don’t have access to publicly funded PrEP which isn’t available in every province, or don’t wish to go through the publicly funded system.
