Reconciliation from an Indigenous Perspective: 2024 AGM Keynote

We were pleased to welcome Rachelle Dallaire*, BSW/MSW/RSW, Executive Director of Indigenous Perspectives Society as keynote speaker at our Annual General Meeting virtually on October 17, 2024.  Since 2021, we have had the privilege of building relationship and learning from Rachelle and the team at Indigenous Perspectives Society (IPS), working on organizational changes that reflect PAN’s commitment and accountability to the TRC’s Calls to Action and UNDRIP. IPS’s work includes teaching cultural perspectives, how to build good local relationships, understanding history, holding space for healing, leadership and governance, recruitment, and retention, and how to develop and implement cultural agility work plans. * Rachelle is from the Montagnais peoples in lower Quebec. She brings more than 15 years of management and leadership experience to her work as Indigenous Perspectives Society’s Executive Director. Rachelle has extensive front line service experience that informs her leadership from her early work with at risk communities including women in the sex trade, corrections, and the homeless community. As an inter-generational trauma survivor, she brings a lot of passion to developing Indigenous Perspectives Society’s Reconciliation from an Indigenous Perspectives training offerings, which include Cultural Perspectives Training, developed to support the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action.
