Vision
An inspired community-based network effectively responding to HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, other STBBIs, and promoting access to harm reduction.
Mission
PAN supports the community-based network to effectively address HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, other STBBIs, and drug poisoning.
Strategies
We pursue four strategic directions to fulfill our mission:
- Building Capacity
- Knowledge-Based Planning and Decision-Making
- Collective Action
- Member-Driven Governance
Values
Member-Driven PAN’s strength is in our members. We call on our members and allies to actively engage with us in moving forward the mission.
Inclusive, Meaningful Engagement of People with Lived and Living Experience PAN includes a diversity of people with lived and living experience that reflect our areas of work, and ensures meaningful opportunities for their involvement as leaders.
Advancing Harm Reduction PAN promotes harm reduction, which keeps people alive, prevents transmission of STBBIs and drug poisoning. Harm reduction also connects people to health services and can improve quality of life.
Commitment to Uphold Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples PAN strives for cultural agility, to create safety for Indigenous Peoples, and we continue to learn how best to do this. We have a responsibility to advance reconciliation through understanding and action, to address the ongoing impacts of colonization.
Challenging Stigma and Honouring Our Differences PAN works to provide a safe environment within which our differences and diversity are recognized as a source of strength.
Building a Learning-Based Culture PAN builds an evaluative culture that encourages reflection, accountability, and deliberate risk-taking as we learn from each other and evolve our response.
