Positive Living Fraser Valley seek a Peer Engagement Worker for the Abbotsford Fraser East region
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Programs primarily and the Executive Director secondarily, this position will provide a variety of services relating to Harm Reduction and Peer Support and Engagement. These services include provision of Harm Reduction supplies/information within the communities of Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack and Hope, actively engaging and supporting peer harm reduction and overdose prevention workers. Facilitation, statistics collection, overdose prevention (providing naloxone training), community education/information sessions and evaluating service delivery are key components of this position.
Must be comfortable engaging diverse populations who may be experiencing challenges with drug use and/or mental illness, and liaison with other community service providers and businesses in each community.
A valid drivers license and use of a personal vehicle (with business insurance) for travel in the Fraser East region is needed as is a criminal record check for vulnerable populations.
