About the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network
Protecting and promoting human rights is not only the right thing to do, it is essential to overcoming the HIV pandemic. Founded in 1992, the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network (www.aidslaw.ca) promotes the human rights of people living with and affected by HIV, in Canada and internationally, through research and analysis, litigation and other advocacy, public education and community mobilization. The Legal Network is one of the world’s leading organizations tackling the legal and human rights issues related to HIV. We work with community partners, go to court, speak out in the media and advocate with policymakers to defend and realize human rights, particularly of those communities most affected by HIV.
We are looking for a skilled and accomplished fundraiser committed to advancing the organization’s mission.
Job description
The Director of Development is responsible for developing, managing, executing and evaluating the fundraising program for the organization, which includes grant solicitation, annual and major gifts, and corporate and in-kind donations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performance and a strong knowledge of best practices in fundraising, particularly in the areas of grant writing and donor program management. This position is well suited for a strategic thinker with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and love of logistics who is prepared to be hands-on in all aspects of fundraising.
The Director of Development is a member of the management team and reports directly to the Executive Director. The Director of Development is supported by and works closely with the relevant staff of other units (Finance, Communications, Program Support, and Research & Policy).
