Thursday March 1st, 2018. 10 AM PT
In this webinar, Tujuanna Austin, Shalane Ha, and Karen Timmerman will be discussing a scoping review on the barriers and facilitators to the screening and testing of HCV, as reported by patients and healthcare providers. Hepatitis C is a blood-borne infection that is characterized by an inflammation of the liver. In 75% of cases, the infection will become chronic. Hepatitis C is often asymptomatic. It is estimated that 44% of people with chronic HCV infection in Canada are unaware of their infection. In order to decrease the number of individuals unaware of their status, it is first necessary to examine the barriers and facilitators to screening and testing.
