CAHR Conference: Registration Open and Accepting Community Scholarship Applications

CAHR Conference LogoConference registration is now open for the 24th Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research (CAHR 2015). We are also pleased to advise that we have begun accepting applications for Community Scholarships to the Conference.

Detailed information on how to register for the Conference, apply for a Community Scholarship, the CTN Postdoctoral Fellowships, and other important Conference information is listed below.
Please share this information with your friends and colleagues who may be interested in what the Conference has to offer, encourage them to submit an abstract, and  join the Conference mailing list so that they receive Conference updates and reminders.

Organized by the Canadian Association for HIV Research (CAHR), CAHR 2015 will take place April 30-May 3, 2015 in Toronto. The theme of the Conference is Combining Strengths in the Struggle Against HIV.   

 

Registration
Registration for CAHR 2015 is open. Early bird rates are available until Thursday, March 12, 2015. Visit the Registration page of the Conference website for information on registration rates, policies and to register. Registration closes on Monday, April 20, 2015.

 

Community Scholarships Available
Are you a person living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, or do you work or volunteer in the HIV/AIDS community? Attending CAHR 2015 is an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in, and evidence presented from current HIV research, and to share your lived experience.

Ten scholarships are available for people from across Canada, and fifteen Conference registrations are available for people from the host city/region (Toronto area). The application deadline is Monday, February 9, 2015.

CTN Postdoctoral Fellowships
The CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network (CTN) is pleased to announce: The 2015-2016 competition for the CTN Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards Program (PDF).

The CTN Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards Program facilitates clinical research in HIV and related health conditions according to the CTN Cores’ scientific vision. The program funds candidates who wish to write an HIV clinical research protocol, and develop and run their own trial. Each award is worth $50,000 plus up to $5,000 in travel allowance on expenses claimed.

 

Abstract Submission
Submit your abstract(s) online by Wednesday, January 7, 2015
. CAHR welcomes abstracts that cover all aspects of HIV research. Abstract submissions are grouped into the following four tracks:

  • Basic Sciences
  • Clinical Sciences
  • Epidemiology and Public Health Sciences
  • Social Sciences

For information on the subjects within each track and abstract guidelines visit the Abstract Submission page of the Conference website.  A total of 16 Academic Scholarships – eight general and eight in Vaccine Research – as well as four New Investigator Awards will be presented to selected candidates. Review the Scholarships & Awards page of the Conference website to verify if you qualify and ensure you apply during abstract submission.

 

Ancillary Event Requests
CAHR is accepting requests for ancillary events in conjunction with CAHR 2015 until Wednesday, January 7, 2015. All ancillary events must be scheduled outside of the official CAHR Conference program, which runs from approximately 5pm Thursday, April 30th to 1pm, Sunday, May 3rd.

CAHR 2015 will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC).
