Strengthening Public Health Collaborative Action Plan Launch

Via Strengthening Public Health Initiative Project Team

In September 2024, the Ministry of Health (the Ministry) released British Columbia’s Population and Public Health Framework: Strengthening Public Health. The Framework sets a new vision, purpose and strategic direction for population and public health in the province.

As a next step, the Ministry is partnering with the Public Health Association of British Columbia (PHABC) to launch the Strengthening Public Health Collaborative Action Plan (SPH-CAP). Individuals and organizations from across the population and public health sector, including community-based organizations, Indigenous service organizations, research and academia, are invited to join a collaborative network which will support the development of a multi-sectoral action plan to advance the Framework.

PHABC will be hosting a virtual kick-off event on Tuesday, May 27TH from 11 AM-12 PM Pacific time to launch the network and action plan development. Join us to learn more about the process and how you and your organization can get involved. As a key partner in supporting the health and well-being of people of BC, we invite you and your organization to take part. Participating organizations who would not otherwise be able to participate may also be eligible to apply for honoraria to support their involvement in the process.

If you would like to participate, please sign-up here. We also invite you to share this invitation within your networks. Please visit PHABC’s website for more information.

Since B.C.’s Population and Public Health Framework was released last fall, the Ministry of Health has also developed some new resources to support implementation and knowledge translation. Please visit the Government of British Columbia (B.C.) website here to learn more.

We look forward to working together to advance our shared goals in public health.
