In response to devastating statistics of low hepatitis diagnosis released in early 2024, WHA launched a new global campaign focused on testing.
From November 18 to 24, 2024, the first ever World Hepatitis Testing Week (WHTW) drove momentum around the need to dramatically increase diagnosis if we are to come close to meeting any of the 2030 hepatitis elimination goals.
The campaign provided a platform to raise awareness, demand policy changes, and deliver innovative testing initiatives. Stakeholders at all levels around the world – from individuals and groups in public and private sectors, to global health advocates, parliamentarians and organizations – joined the cause.
The WHTW 2024 Report sets out key impact data and shares some of the many stories of action by our members and other partners globally.
Thank you to the sponsors who helped make WHTW possible, and our partners and people with lived experience for their guidance and support. WHA is excited to see this powerful initiative grow in 2025, and become a leading global event in the health and development calendar!
