Zero HIV Stigma Day is taking place July 21st, 2023.
This is a global movement uniting people, communities, and entire countries to raise awareness of HIV and take action to end HIV Stigma in all its forms.
The day of action featuring communities living with and affected by HIV, activists, clinicians, influencers, high-profile individuals, and civil society organizations across all sectors.
- HIV stigma is a global health challenge.
- HIV stigma costs lives.
- HIV stigma must end now.
This year’s theme is Human First.
“Our 2023 theme of Human First is meant to emphasize the human dimension of people living with and affected by HIV, because we are all Human First. It mans we see the person before the virus, that a person living with HIV is first a human, they need to be recognized and acknowledged and they deserve every human right just like everyone. Any discrimination against people living with HIV should be seen as a human right violation.” – Zero HIV Stigma Day
