Webinar: Antimicrobial Use and Resistance in Canada – Highlights from the CARSS Report 2017

A Public Health Agency of Canada webinar will provide key highlights on the status in Canada of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antimicrobial use (AMU) in humans and animals from the Canadian Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (CARSS) 2017 annual report along with planned and current efforts to address surveillance gaps.

The CARSS-2017 Report provides a snapshot of 2015 and 2016 AMR and AMU data in Canada, covering both human and food-producing animal populations.  New this year is information on AMR infections occurring in the community setting, antimicrobial prescribing practices among dentists and other non-physician groups; and AMR and AMU on sentinel turkey farms.

This presentation will be of particular interest to health care professionals working in hospital and community settings, policymakers, and the general public.
