To date in CHIWOS, we have enrolled and surveyed over 320 (of our target 350) women living with HIV across BC (and over 1,250 nationally). We have developed a 1-page BC recruitment summary, with stats broken down by region and priority populations which may interest you / your organization.
We’d like to recruit at least another 30 participants by March including 17 in the Interior, and 3-6 in all other regions, and we strongly encourage participation from young women (under 30), trans women, African Caribbean and Black Canadian women, and women in rural communities to ensure their priorities are represented.
Importantly, I say ‘at least another 30’ as we’d like to over-recruit participants to account for any loss-to-follow-up that may happen over time. As such, there is no strict enrolment cap, and all women who may be interested are welcome to participate. The incentive is $50/survey. Please see our poster and interested participants can phone me at 1-855-506-8615 (press 1).
As we wrap up enrollment and move forward, we will be focusing on applying for renewal funding (in March), rolling out our 18-month follow-up survey (in April), and producing and sharing important community-driven research findings with communities towards supporting the health, well-being and care of women living with HIV in Canada. We really look forward to these next steps, and our continued collaboration.
This is such an important study, and with your help, we are reaching so many women who might not otherwise participate in or benefit from meaningful HIV research.
Thank you so much for all your support!
Best,
Allie
