Trauma-Informed Care Workshops In November

The STI Outreach and Chee Mamuk programs at the BC Centre for Disease Control, along with Providence Health and Canadian Nurses in AIDS Care (CANAC), are sponsoring two Trauma workshops this November.

The presenter, Elizabeth Vermilyea, will be examining the role of trauma in people’s lives and how it impacts “risk-taking behaviours” with respect to drug use and HIV/STI transmission. She will also offer concrete symptom management techniques for people working on the front lines.

November 20 – 21, 9am – 4pm: A 2-day workshop focusing on trauma-informed care and trauma symptom management.

November 22, 1 – 4pm: A 4-hour workshop focusing on principles of trauma-informed care.

Both workshops will be held at the UBC Medical Student and Alumni Centre, located at 2750 Heather Street in Vancouver.

Pre-Registration is a MUST as space is limited.
