Empowering Change: Transforming HIV Care Through PAN’s Organizational Stigma Assessment Cycle

We look forward to welcoming attendees of the 2025 CAHR conference to this interactive session that will highlight PAN’s Organizational Stigma Assessment Cycle (OSAC) Project. The Organizational Stigma Assessment Cycle (OSAC) Project is a transformative framework designed to identify and address stigma within HIV-related services. This session will support participants to gain awareness of OSAC’s benefits and strategies, test the  tools, strengthen their partnerships, and enhance their commitment to reducing stigma in HIV services across Canada.

Objectives:

  1. Introduce the OSAC project, emphasizing its evidence-based approach and significance in reducing organizational stigma.
  2. Share insights from the project, including tools, resources, and case studies, to support stigma reduction in diverse settings.
  3. Foster collaboration among researchers, service providers, and community members to encourage the adoption of OSAC.

 

Event Structure

    • Welcome and introduction of OSAC’s importance to stigma awareness and reduction
    • OSAC Overview: history, participatory research methods, community engagement, and practical tools
    • Interactive Workshop: participants will complete a condensed stigma assessment based on their organization or service
    • Open Discussion for questions and sharing perspectives
    • Recap and resource sharing to promote partnerships and implementation
