Queer, Wise, and Inquisitive Collective

Ribbon Community, with support by the Community-based Research Centre (CBRC) team, is facilitating an upcoming program on research skill acquistion for 2S/LGBTQIA+ seniors.

Starting on January 27, 2026 a small group of up to 20 seniors (55+) will meet weekly for 10 weeks at Ribbon Community (1101 Seymour St., Vancouver) to learn research skills that actually work for their communities. Then, they will have the chance to design and carry out their own research project on a topic that matters to them, with full support from the CBRC research team through the end of 2026 (see full poster below text).

What makes this special:

  • Connect with other 2S/LGBTQIA+ seniors who have a shared curiosity
  • Learn from leaders in community-based research
  • Build skills and network (plus enjoy a meal at each meeting!)
  • Make a real difference by addressing questions that matter to you

Ribbon Community will be accepting applications until Monday, January 19, 2026.
