Syphilis rates are increasing across Canada, and the impacts are being felt throughout communities in British Columbia. This two-part virtual event will provide both foundational knowledge and practical tools to help strengthen the community-based response.
Syphilis Essentials |
Webinar 1: 10:00-11:30 AM Pacific time
This webinar will provide a foundational overview of syphilis for front-line service providers working in community-based organizations, serving priority populations. As rates of syphilis have risen sharply in recent years, service providers play an important role in increasing knowledge of and linkage to prevention, testing and treatment services. Participants will learn the basics about what syphilis is, how it is passed and prevented, signs and symptoms, and the importance of testing and treatment. This session is designed to be interactive, allowing attendees to participate in discussions and case study activities to contextualize how to apply this knowledge in their work.
Presented by: Zoé Bordeleau-Cass, CATIE
