Join us for a webinar with the Canadian HIV and Disability Project (CaNHDis) of Realize: A National Environmental Scan of HIV and Disability Resources
Summary: Systemic ableism is increasingly being identified as a major barrier in Canada’s HIV Response (PHAC, 2020). Realize’s ongoing dialogues across the HIV and Disability sectors have flagged systemic ableism as a barrier to HIV prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in Canada.
This project is the first to map existing HIV resources and services across the country that are tailored for people living with disabilities, identify gaps in supports, and forge linkages across the HIV and Disability sectors to enable appropriate referrals, testing and treatment.
Webinar Content: This webinar session includes information about the findings from the first ever national scan of HIV and Disability resources in Canada, as well as Key Informant interviews from stakeholders.
Webinar Objectives:
1. To share the preliminary findings of the scan,
2. To provide HIV and Disability service providers information existing services and resources,
3. To identify gaps in access and information.
Who is this webinar for?
This webinar is designed for individuals and teams who provide direct services or support to people living with or affected by HIV and/or Disability in any setting. The content is evidence-based and practical and would be of value to case managers, support workers, volunteers, nurses, social workers, program planners and other carers from community-based (HIV) organizations, health service settings, and/or Disability organizations.
