Incorporated in 1999, the Community-Based Research Centre for Gay Men’s Health (CBRC) is a charitable health promotion organization aiming to improve the lives of gay, bi and other men who have sex with men, through research, learning and leadership development.

CBRC’s vision – A Better World for Gay Men.

We are entering an exciting time in CBRC’s development as we establish our national mandate. For nearly two decades, CBRC has been advocating broad approaches to gay men’s health promotion to improve structural conditions and well being in British Columbia. Now, CBRC is undertaking a national intervention: the Smarter Prevention project. This multifaceted nation-wide initiative will promote both structural and personal change to improve the effectiveness of new prevention technologies and strategies to achieve health improvement for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men, including trans and Two Spirit men.

We need a Research and Evaluation Manager to help us capture the development history of the initiative and the relevant qualitative and quantitative data that will demonstrate its outcomes. We are looking for a person who is excited at the thought of working for a national organization that straddles the interface of community and academic cultures in pursuit of better health outcomes for gay, bi and other men who have sex with men. You will play a key role in developing and implementing the systematic processes that will allow CBRC to contribute the power of outcome data to Canada’s gay men’s health movement.

You should have a strong background in health research, program evaluation and KTE in gay men’s community settings. You will be a key member of the Smarter Prevention initiative, working with our Management Team and Research Working Group at CBRC headquarters in Vancouver. As Research and Evaluation Manager you will lead the outcome evaluation of this initiative involving gay men’s health organizations across Canada.
